Established in 2016 and led by the British Council in partnership with the UK’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport – safeguarded cultural heritage at risk in Palestine and contributed to sustainable social stability and economic prosperity through local decision-making and leadership.

Over the last decade, the fund awarded more than £10 million to 39 exceptional projects that protected historic sites, valuable archives and built the capacity of local teams to continue this important work into the future while preserving communities’ traditions, identities, and memories — each serving as a living testament to the collective memory of Palestine.
