The Edinburgh Showcase is a biennial platform of contemporary performance art for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, featuring some of the most outstanding small and middle-scale touring productions selected by the British Council.
For years the British Council have supported a number of leading theatre practitionars from Palestine to participate in the Edinburgh Showcases, thus providing a platform for exchange and collaboration between theatres in Palestine and the UK.
Based on recommendations by our local partners in Palestine we hosted a number of theatre and dance companies including Traverse Theatre's production of "Damascus", Oxford Play House's "One Small Step", and Protein Dance Company's theatre piece "LOL: Lots of Love". The visiting companies also lead on a capacity building programme of intensive workshops and panel discussions as part of the British Council's wrap around and educational programme.
